Juna Kumal comes from the village of Gaikhur and is the second child of 8. At age 7 June started to lose her eyesight and as such, was taken out of school. By age 11 she lived in a government run boarding school for visually impaired children and would only return home at the holidays. Upon completing her school certificate she moved to Pokhara, married and had 2 children. Juna soon joined WSDO and and was trained as a rope braider, an integral feature in many designs for straps and edges on seams and pockets. Juna has always been keen to learn new skills and thanks the support of WSDO for enabling her to work and giving a sense of sisterhood and support to her.
